As part of our cooperation with customers in the field of manufacturing and quality control, we recently delivered a Ball Drop Tester – a device designed to test the impact resistance of products.
The Ball Drop Tester works on a simple but highly effective principle. A steel ball of a precisely defined weight is dropped from a defined height onto the test sample. The sample is then evaluated to determine whether there is any damage, cracking, denting, or other changes to the material. Thanks to the ability to adjust the drop height, select the ball weight, and repeat the test, it is possible to simulate various real-life conditions to which products are exposed during operation.
The device is used in many industries:
- Testing of plastics, composites, and metals to determine impact strength
- Quality control of packaging and its resistance during transport
- Glass and display breakage tests
- Floor coverings, varnishes, coatings – surface resistance to local impact.
- Toys – safety test to ensure that they do not break into dangerous pieces during normal falls.
- Evaluation of the resistance of surfaces and coatings to point impact
